Time to get to busy...

My grandma Elsie use to say this to us all the time growing up. I never really understood what she meant by it until I got older and realized I always was having to "get to busy". This feels like the story of my life here lately. I have about a hundred fires all burning at once and putting them out is never ending.Β

My to do list seems to grow, not shrink every single day. I know I can't be the only one running on E these days. Between planting, organizing, hatching, vetting, business work and we haven't even touched the basic wife and mother duties, I am running all the time. I know it is the time of year, but it still is kicking my tail.Β

But- as a homesteader- I have to stay focused and stay busy. Very busy. And so do you. This week we had a perfect hatch in incubator 2 of Rouen ducks and I was over the moon. We started incubator 1 back up with 2 Royal Palm turkeys and 4 black broad breasted turkeys. I am excited to add them to the farm. Our chicks are growing slowly but surely. We haven't been able to work in the back garden much due to rain and this freak cold snap. Luckily, it seems like everything has pulled through pretty well. This coming week is full of meetings, reorganizing my office space, finishing a few landscaping projects and trying to get things planted in the back garden. I have brooders to clean tomorrow which is always a fun task.Β

I say all this to simply say- Stay busy. If you haven't gotten to busy yet, you better get there. I'm blessed to be this busy and I am sure y'all are as well.Β

Stay busy!
