Welcome to the Smallstead!

In 2019 we started a garden with the hopes to start learning to be more self-sustainable. The next year, we increased the size of the garden and started planting new plants. In 2021, during the heart of the pandemic, we had a family meeting and came to the realization that we needed to do more, that we could do more, and the time was now. 

We laced up our boots and got to work. We set out on a mission, backed by faith, to help ourselves and our community. We decided we were going to be the change we wanted to see in the world, and we could do that through offering affordably priced goods, donating to local area churches and teaching homesteading to people who are interested. We work closely with veterans in our area to help with anything they may need because we are a proud veteran family. 

Our homestead also serves as a rescue for poultry in our area. Too often, springtime rolls around and people flock to their local feed stores and the "chirp-chirp" from the back of the store reals them into buying tiny balls of fluff that they have no idea the task it takes to raise them. Those balls of fluff get bigger, the demands become greater and you're never guaranteed eggs. We offer a sanctuary for those birds that unfortunately are no longer wanted or can be cared for. With proper vetting and some TLC, we often get those birds rehomed, and the ones we can't- stay with us.

We hope to continue to build our business by offering affordable quality products so that we can continue to help more people and our feathered friends. Welcome to our smallstead and we are happy to have you here.
