(Wo)Man Down...

Does anyone know anyone who enjoys the dentist?
Anyone? Yeah, me either. After an oral surgery last week, I have been up but down for the count. Obviously, there have been several things that I can't get done, but there has been plenty I have been getting done.ย

The rains that moved through have left the property in a mess. I can't stand when it is a sopping mess outside and gloomy. The rains definitely took out some of my starter plants that I had just gotten in the ground. We have more, I just haven't been able to get out in the gardens yet to get them replanted. The coops need to be cleaned. To the average person, they probably look great but to me, I need them to be cleaned up a bit.
We have a ton of chicks transitioning from the brooder to the mini coop. I am forcing myself to not hatch anything other than our turkeys for the month of April. I need to get these little ones tranisitioned into their coops before we keep hatching. Is it a step back for the business side, this year, yes. But it will set up for ongoing successes later. So far, we have 2 turkey's that have hatched well and are doing great. We have 3 more to go. 2 have pipped, 1 was started a couple days later than the rest so I am not expecting her to arrive until the end of the week.
I am trying to stay on top of all the business aspects of the farm. It has been a struggle at times to even just post a social media update these last few days. I am just out of it from this surgery and the surgery has unfortunately triggered a fibromyalgia flare up.ย

The basics are getting done. I need to remember to be thankful for that. Not everything has to be done in a day and yes, everyone is being fed, watered and taken care of. I just set very high expectations. I think the biggest reason why things are weighing on me is I have just been feeling a larger calling pulling my heart into staying prepped up and stocking up. I was pulled to this lifestyle by the calling of my good Lord above. I have learned over the years to just listen to him and to stop trying to do things my way. I have had a strong pull on my heart these past few weeks to get things handled and prepare for whatever is coming. They keep saying we're headed for a recession, but I think we've been in that for over a year. We're headed for worse. That is one reason why I decided to have this surgery done now because who knows when I'll be able to get it done if I keep putting it off.ย

Sorry this is just such a random blog. I do have some more things planned to talk about. I will be adding a recipe tag to the website for my canning recipes- not my specialty recipes- but some of the basics that my family loves.ย  I hope that helps some people interested in starting to can or maybe gives some people ideas of things they can can.ย

Thank you all for your support and kindness.
Stay Busy!
